New paint colors in 2023?

Rivian has great paint choices, but I have been wondering whether Rivian might add new paint colors for 2023. With so many preorders in the queue with paint colors already configured it’s easy to argue adding any new paint choices would only lead to more configuration changes and potential additional production complication.

On the other hand, I read a summary of Tesla’s history of paint options by model and production year at findmyelectric.com that said for Tesla’s second year of Model S production (2013) they added a white and a red paint (Pearl White Multi-Coat, and Red Multi-Coat) that became two of Tesla’s most popular paint choices.

For me, I’m just hoping my Limestone R1S gets delivered in 1H2023.

They might add new colours when the dual motor versions are available in 2024, but I can’t see that happening soon otherwise. It’s a lot of work on the mfg side.

Unless the new colors carry an impressive premium over the "old" colors I can't see Rivian making changes. They're struggling with what they've already had in motion for years, there's not much benefit adding something new unless it significantly helps profit per unit. In my opinion It's more likely reduce the color selection.
