They forgot the foglights. Plus, I think it will have the same scalloped lower profile with the same wheel well vent as R1. It's a good and proven aero trick. No reason to get rid of it.

Nope. There's no way R2 looks similar to the R1. There should be a differentiating factor between the flagship and the non-flagship models.

You will be proven wrong. It will be different but it will still be unmistakably Rivian. The simple line drawn car in patent filing checks both boxes. Look at all auto brands. Across their entire line, there is a common design motif. This is called branding and brand differentiation.

I don't care if I'm proven wrong. I will just be disappointed.

While maintaining a consistent design language is important for brand recognition, it doesn't mean creating identical models. There should be enough variation to meet the specific needs and preferences of different consumer segments. It's about finding that balance between a cohesive brand identity and offering diverse products within that framework.

The Teslas all look similar. X Y, S 3. Rivian copies everything Tesla so it wouldn't surprise me. Tesla couldn't make a truck the same and look to be copying rivian though.

Looks a bit like Fisker with a Rivian front end.
