The Model Y wouldn't be in my top few cars for consideration if I were in the market again today. I'd probably be comparing the R2, Ioniq 5, EV6, and the new Leaf. Probably in that order.
True genius! (We love our Ioniq5 and look forward to the complementary contrast of an R2. It would be more complementary if the latter was an R3, but the world is so imperfect.)

I am sure it's a great car. We had a 2021 Y which we liked and traded for a 22 R1T. Main issue is that the Y is the new Camry. Everybody has one and interior is nothing special.

They had lifetime FSD in the Juniper Launch Edition, this is only for one year. Terrible deal.
Tesla is not giving out lifetime anymore because I suspect they really do want to give customers unsupervised autonomy

sounds like they feel that unsupervised autonomy is too close to warrant selling FSD anymore.

$8000 FSD is about 6.5 years at $100 a month.

If tesla comes out with unsupervised autonomy and it costs $200-300 a month then it would be stupid to have spent $8000 on FSD only to have to pay again

And if unsupervised requires a new car, then you have to buy a new car in 2 years only to sell a car with $8000 "supervised" FSD that nobody wants.
