No Sounds From Vehicle - Safety Concerns

Sorry, but that‘s just incorrect. I’m running the Rivian plug in for Home Assistsnt. It retrieves the detailed log data from Rivian. Rivian’s logs show vehicle mode. What Rivian officially refers to as ‘Sleep’ occurs regularly without doing any of the things you described. You are creating your own definition of what sleeping is.

Yes, it is tue that certain subsystems such as Bluetooth never 100% power down, but that does not mean it is not sleeping as defined by Rivian. Does your heart and brain shutdown when you sleep?

Maybe different sleep criteria and definitions but when I had a severe issue service told me to do those exact things to go into sleep mode for at least one hour after the soft and hard reset failed to correct issue

I don’t know if you are aware but while your heart and brain don’t shutdown when sleeping, there are different kinds of sleep. Most people have heard of REM, which is very different from deep sleep. So thank you for bolstering my argument.

You stated "Just walking away is not enough to get the vehicle to 'sleep' ".

I didn't say nor imply you pulled it out of thin air. Rivian had you do those things so you would not accidentally prevent it/wake it up from sleeping.

The vehicle will sleep without turning things off manually, and will sleep after just walking away for a time. That's well known. Below is a history chart of my R1S as logged by Rivian and retrieved from Rivian's telemetry database via the Rivian API. I do not have Gear Guard turned off, WIFI off, Rivian app killed, etc. You can clearly see it has multiple sleep cycles.

We have discussed this extensively here is the distant past as part of "Vampire Drain" discussions. RIvian's patent shows that the vehicle will sleep and various susbsystems remain on. Below that is an illustration from the Rivian patent which describes among other things which modules remain active in sleep mode.

Sigh, that was the exact analogy I was making - comparing RIvian sleep to Human sleep. When the Rivian is sleeping not all subsystems completely shut down. Subsystems such as Bluetooth LE et al stay powered on in a low power mode while the Rivian sleeps, just as your heart and brain stay "powered on" in a different mode (REM, NREM1, NREM2, NREM3) while sleeping.
