I don’t subscribe to Connect +, but I did get the email from Rivian saying I have these features and nowhere is a subscription to Connect+ listed as a requirement. For the last two years the Halloween mode has worked just fine, so apparently we are going backwards.

As an early adopter, stock holder, and multi vehicle purchaser this “promotion” has been a joke and seems to me to be doing more damage than good.

We 100% do know that Connect+ subscribers are getting priority updates. It's litteraly listed in the features of Connect+...
There’s that pesky literacy thing getting in peoples way of understanding things again. I swear people sure can type a bunch of stuff but read nothing.

Because Connect+ isn't a requirement? You'll get it when your update ring gets called, just like the rest of us.

Rivianroamer.com has an API where if you register, it will let you know when software updates are available for your vehicle. It allows non Connect+ and R1 without WIFI to be aware updates are available. Free service. Heard it on Rivian Rundown podcast. New feature.

You can do that with Home Assistant right now. No need to sign up for another site.

Make fun all you want, but I do think there is an erosion of goodwill by this. There are metrics that show that Rivian owners love their vehicles more than any other brand out there right now.

Stupid stuff like not rolling out costumes is easily interpreted as greedy, or making some owners feel like second class citizens by not paying yet another $15/mo subscription, especially considering the large expense of the vehicle already.
Made me buy an EVSportsline Car Play screen just for Spotify (okay…and Waze) since it was $150 once for that and I felt slighted that just to have that in a $90k car, required a $150/year bill…the not getting the update was the icing on the cake for me of “lost of good will.” Did I mention it popped an airbag needs servicing warning all of a sudden and next appointment is end of Jan?

I don't mind having to wait a bit for SW updates as a Contect+ non-subscriber, but the issue I see in this case is that the costumes feature is *not* something gated by Contect+. We're all supposed to get it, but it's a limited-time feature. If it were not a limited-time feature that will go away quite soon, then waiting a few extra days isn't that big a deal. As it stands, I'm feeling cheated in this circumstance.

The limited nature of the feature is likely due to licensing with Universal Studios. Is there anyone that doesn't have it now?

Yes. No one without Connect+ has it.

Nope. They temporarily paused for Gen 2 only, but they've already deployed a hot fix.
