It’s not so white in person. In person it looks like ash wood. Gives nice contrast to the whiter colour of the upholstery
I‘ve seen it in person, I just wasn’t excited about it, I was expecting a more natural wood. I agree with @electruck on the likely inspiration and also I agree with @toade that the black is a bit plain/without contrast.

I can imagine that. What I really want to know, if anyone has seen it, is:

How does Ocean Coast look with white and silver?

Sure, if it were the same price I'd pair it with blue or red, but I'm not one to put extra money into paint.
Seconding not putting extra money into paint. I'm also very curious if anyone has seen the Ocean Coast Interior with either Glacier White or LA Silver. GW/OC is my current configuration and I think LAS with OC would also look sharp but haven't seen either combination in pics or otherwise.

To each there own, but my friend and I both thought ocean looked the best of the three. The lighter color contrasts the darker trims nicely and just gives the entire vehicle a much more luxurious feel.

I felt the black was just really plain, with zero contrast. Which was fine, nothing wrong with that, just seemed so monotone.

Ocean will be a pain to keep clean tho.

Forest just had too much green for my personal tastes. It is greyer in real life than in the pics... but still green to my eyes.
This is roughly where I'm at, and why I asked the questions about seeing the photos to kick off this thread. None of the three really excite me. I'd love LOVE either the OC or even the Black with the wood trim of the Forest Green. The black wood in the black interior just looks "blah' IMHO. I'm not a huge fan of the light (pickled??) wood int he Ocean Coast - but I also haven't seen it in person. I do like the greater contrast of the OC however.

And sooo, my configuration is currently set for OC interior (LG R1S). I spoke with CS Friday and they indicated I'm so close to getting a call ("days now") that changing my configuration now may impact my delivery timing (previously told Mar-Apr). That sort of sucks no one told me I was about to pass that threshold. But oh well - they have a LOT going on.

Have you watched the Edmunds review? Its a LA Silver/OC combo.

Post #9 in this thread has pictures of ocean coast with silver exterior. The wood is accurately represented.

Seems like it looks lighter in bright light. The one i drove was on a cloudy day, and the wood was not as “bleached” looking as I was expecting having seen pictures

For those that really want to change the OC wood, have you ever thought of carefully staining over it? I have done that on several house projects with great success. I have OC as my configuration and would do it if it did not meet my expectations.

The thought has crossed my mind yes. But in reviewing these pictures it seems like the wood is everywhere - not just on the dash. Also, as an armature woodworker, I would imagine there's some type of "finishing coat" on the wood that would prevent a stain from adhering without first sanding the finish coat off. That sounds like too much uncertainty and trouble. But, I haven't seen or felt it in person.

Before I saw it in person, I had the same thought. Some of the photos of it from the MotorTrend reviews made it look really marbled, but there was some editing that enhanced it. When I did my mobile drive, the test R1T had Black Mountain and it really solidified that as my selection. The photo below shows a real world representation of the grain patterns evident in the dark Ash.

Help me understand why Rivian uses black speaker grills on the a pillars etc, in the ocean coast interior.... Really needs to match the liner, not stand out like a sore thumb. That's my only complaint - it's a cheap oversight on their part.

The funny thing is, I had watched that video. I didn't really think about how that is Ocean Coast/LA Silver. That's the takeaway for me - it either goes together fine or it really isn't that important to match the interior/exterior because there are so few places where they contact. In either case, I'm definitely considering that combo.

It may have been an early prototype thing because if I am remembering correctly the configurator images were updated at some point to show matching grilles on the speakers. I would expect that customer vehicles with Ocean Coast will have matching grilles as reflected in the configurator.

I drove a glacier white/ocean coast R1T at the Sonoma event. It was a really good looking combination. If it wasn’t for launch green I’d be choosing that exact configuration. Everyone I was with was surprised at good the glacier white looked, and the light interior complimented it perfectly.

Thanks @godfodder0901, I also drove a black interior on my test drive. Even after seeing it in person it wasn't for me - but of course, it's the ONLY one I've seen in person :(
