No, this is not way more work. It is less work. Someone in the community knows the answer, and no one is forcing you, or anyone else to reply. And if people can’t use the forum to find answers, honestly, what good is the forum anyway? I, myself, access it to learn things, not to bump fists with others. Otherwise it is not worth MY time.
What's more work? A five second google search that gives you as definitive an answer as spending the three minutes building a post, waiting on replies, fighting with said posters, deleting email notifications, etc...

BTW, The Count wants you to prepare to be disappointed with the lack of an on dash odometer; not to mention snow plowing capabilities.

C'mon. You know what you wrote.

"...on so called new vehicle" and "...the Odometer reading is 100?
Isn't that high for a vehicle supposed lying coming from the factory."

You don't see the choice of words and intent to insinuate dishonesty?
Sorry to disappoint you but never assume as you know the saying. Unfortunately you are completely wrong!! The auto correct changed my misspelling of "supposedly" Into supposed lying. This is the issue with AI autocorrecting and me not proofreading and you assuming. We don't know what we don't know!! I didn't go back to fix the spelling autocorrect mistake as then I would be accused of some other major crime against humanity and possibly described as that dreaded word "troll" .
PS: I received my Rivian today

Congratulations on getting your Rivian! I hope you enjoy yours as much as I’ve been enjoying ours.

To stay on topic, how many miles were on the odometer when you received it? Also, how did the delivery go? More importantly, can you post a pic of your Rivian here https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/threads/random-rivian-photos-of-the-day-post-yours-📸.26113/? :)
edit: added link to photos thread

28 miles on the vehicle :) The delivery went smooth much easier than buying a car at a dealership. So funny I haven't had a new car in 15 years , I am suffering from the overprotective new car thing. It is raining here today and hesitant to drive it as I don't want it to get dirty.

“so called new” is the offending phrase, it what you suggested. You came in hot right out of the gate implying that Rivian is selling used vehicles. I don’t see how that’s a problem with autocorrect. Don’t bullshit a bullshitter guy.

As others have said, it will say 100 for all BTO Rivians.

And imagine how inefficient it would be if they have to call around to get someone to go and take an actual reading.
If you look at your smartphone Rivian app it has the milage on the “main screen” although “below the fold”, so it should be available to them in software when they are creating the paperwork without sending anyone out to look at the vehicle.

On the other hand if it says “26” and they put 26 in the contract, and they have to move it from the current parking spot to one on the other side of the factory and hit a half mile, and then loading it onto the truck they sometimes have to move it a bit...and it gets to you with “28” miles on it, well some people are going to complain about it. Especially if they have a lease with limited miles.

For the most part people don’t care if they have “100” on the paperwork and the car comes with 28 miles on it.

(now if they wanted they could grab the current milage and add 5 or something else “small but reasonable”, but honestly, that is software work they could spend on something with a bigger impact on the bottom line)

The problem is, the "miles at delivery" may not match "miles at paperwork creation."

My vehicle was driven 17 miles from the local prep center to my house by a Rivian employee, it wasn't delivered on a truck.

When delivered, my vehicle had 28 or 29 miles on the odometer. Which means if, when they did the paperwork, it had 9 miles on the odometer, and they delivered it to me with 28 miles, but paperwork saying 9; they would have just committed fraud.

So they put 100. Because they know basically no vehicle will ever hit 100 miles before delivery. (And that is the limit for a vehicle to count as "new".)
There is no limit for a vehicle to count as new. I bought a brand new car from Ford back in 2015 and it had over 200 miles on it. It was still new.
