Probably the only non-Rivian Press Day footage that I have seen for an R2 doing anything offroad:I do a little offroading with my stock Jeep Wrangler Sport S. I live in Arizona and stick to onX 3 or 4 rated trails. What kind of performance/ability can I expect with an R2? Same, better, worse than the Jeep?
Thanks in advance
In some respects the big tell will be how much aftermarket goodies support the R2 gets. I know it will never be as robust as Jeep but I hope "the essentials" will be covered. The R2 will be perfectly fine for trails rated 3-4 by OnX.
That said, I would very much recommend getting sliders and underbody protection, because the cost to repair a Rivian vs. a Wrangler is orders of magnitude.
I'm picking up another Jeep (my 4th) in a few weeks as the off-road toy, because I know I can really play with it and not worry about repair costs.
