Woke up to a half-charged R1S today. It has about 6k miles on it. Picked up in late Sept 2023. LED was red. "Vehicle error, please unplug and replug". This did not correct it. Tried my other L2 charger (we have two). Same error. Tried Rivian's included mobile charger and had the same issue. Did a hard reset (Left arrow + hazards) and still the same error. I have a DCFC about 15 min from my house so i went there and it charged fine on L3. So i'm guessing the onboard AC charger just up and died.

Anyone know if this can be fixed via a mobile service visit?

Would agree with your diagnosis . I learned from a mobile tech visit recently that he was a level 2 tech not trained in HV electrical systems and OSHA required arc flash training. He believed a level 4 tech would be required when the HV battery is involved. Not sure if they have level techs on the road.

I have heard of people having a temporary issue with the onboard charger that is fixed with a sleep cycle reset, not fixed by the normal reset, but also some that have had the charger stop working and needing replacement.

When I picked up my R1T I was all excited got home and plugged the charger right away. It didn't work. I kept getting the red flash light from the charge indicator light. The display said charge fail. I called Rivian and they made me to drive to L3 charger near by and try charging. It didn't work either. They then had me bring the car next morning and worked on my car first thing. Apparently not being able to charge issue is their highest priority for them since they don't want to see the completely depleted car. Anyway they found out that the onboard charger was defect and replaced it with new one. Now my car charges fine.

For onboard charger issue I think you need to bring the car in to Rivian service center.
