I placed an order from the shop for a used Rivian just over a week ago. I completed all paperwork, insurance, etc. paid in full also. Delivery was set for Tuesday.
I just got an email yesterday saying my delivery was canceled due to a VIN change.
the exact vehicle I ordered is now available again in the shop at a lower price.
anyone had this happen?
I’ve reached out to guide and chat and it’s all ā€˜after hours or we’ll get back to you in 1-2 days’ but that’s when I was supposed to have it delivered.
I emailed and told them I’d like it at the lower price it’s currently listed at. Just don’t get how they can do this since all paperwork was completed etc.

You have to sign a couple times at delivery, so technically the sale is probably not complete until then. That would be frustrating, but maybe you can still get the same truck for less!

Yea I’m hopeful I can get it at the cheaper price now. I just don’t quite get why it even happened.

It may be worth investigating WHY it's relisted at a lower price. I wonder if they discovered something wrong with it or damaged that was not disclosed in your deal. And thus triggered them to relist at a lower price with that damage listed.

Good point. I’ve got a ticket in for what’s going on so hopefully I get answers soon.

They were not able to go e me much detail. But I did end up getting the same one at the lower price. I guess if there is an issue I can decline it or return it within the return period.
I might be able to find out more at delivery with the onsite team.

On second thought, I wonder if there was an issue with the bank’s appraised value And/or residual value. If the appraised value was too low then that could lampoon the whole deal. But then I would expect Rivian to address the financing issues vice place you in another vehicle at the higher price. Did you finance or lease?
