I actually had to do a true reset on my wife's 22 Yukon. It would not recognize either key fob (it would unlock and "turn on" but engine wouldn't start), and after some brief googling a quick disconnect of the battery fixed the issue.

Abnormal? Every time you shut off and turn back on a ICE, a computer, a tablet or phone, you are in effect reseting. You've been resetting devices all your life and you took it for granted.
