I guess for AS, it doesn't have to be Pirellis. There are a lot of other options. We'll see.

I am still looking for lower-cost replacement tire option. I see two different versions of the tire, the RIvian version at $448 and the other at $360. The speed rating and load range are different. Is that the only difference? I wouldn't mind buying the cheaper version, especially since it has a better load range and includes a warranty. Let me know if I am missing something. Thanks.

Where are you located?

The OEM tire does not have a treadwear warranty, even if you purchase it through Tire Rack, etc... as that is still an OEM tire. Call Pirelli and they will substantiate my statement. If you purchase the non-OEM version, it does carry a tread wear warranty.
Hi
Thanks forpopsting
Is there a tread wear warranty on the OEM Pirelli AT 20's?
is there an approved less knobby road version or suitable road tire hat is approved and capable?
The AT's are very smooth on the highway but we are seldom in the dirt

Rivian has not approved any non-factory offerings. Don’t expect them to.

They are tires. I don't think there's any real change in going to a non-OEM tire for any car, even EVs. There will be changes to range, but can't be any more than the changes you see based on how each person drives a vehicle.

I don't think that's true (at least as stated)......it's "ORIGINALLY INSTALLED OEM tires" do not have the treadwear warranty (to the extent such warranties are actually meaningful anyway).....the details matter...

I'm running 52 psi on my 21" Pirelli OEM AT's. It's below freezing here and at best it is 55 degrees in day time. If I use 48 psi on a cold day/night it drops to 45 psi or lower.
My R1T is not hauling it's allowed payload, so I guess I should not fear 54 or 55 psi when they warm up?
I really think that a tire choice by a Mfgr. needs to have a larger spread of weight/psi with relation to temp. and warm up. Like having a tire that will take 65 psi but the door jamb says 48 or so there is room for the inevitable thermal expansion.
Tire pressure is supposed to be measured when COLD (seasonal cold, not absolute cold). If it is 45 psi, you are under pressurized. Tires warm up fairly quickly when driven, so you can not use the TPMS system to measure tire pressure. Also, because the tires do warm up, you will likely see "road" pressures of 52psi. This is normal, and expected.

No treadwear warranty on the OEM marked tires regardless if you purchase them from Rivian or a retailer like Tire Rack.

Right.. but there are no other "approved" 20" tires for the Rivian so Tire Rack, Costco, America's tire, etc.. all install the "OEM" marked Pirelli's which by definition have no treadwear warranty. Again, call Pirelli at 1-800-PIRELLI (800-747-3554) to verify my statement. I called them, and the rep was very nice and was very aware of the Rivian tires and warranty situation.

To me it's a big deal and you shouldn't guess.. call Pirelli at the phone number I provided.

How about just denying gravity, adopt alternate facts. Opps, my bad, just looking for humor in this dreadfully expensive issue. I too have 21" OEM's.
