As someone who had a bug eye 2002 WRX that most people thought looked terrible. I realized I don't care how the outside looks as I don't sit and admire the outside I care about the inside, how it drives, and if it does what I need.

For this Rivian checks a lot of boxes. I don't mind the headlights but the truth is I hardly look at them.

Now if you have issues with the inside I can understand getting rid of the vehicle if you can't fix them with something.

Wanting to get rid of it because you don't like the headlights is the same as saying "I don't like it because it only has 2 cupholders".

Personally, I think the front end looks cool. It is easy while driving to spot another Rivian and you can flick the lights to say hi. Someone suggested having the ability to make one of the lights wink like to would wink at someone.

I do wish we were able to modify the front bar to different colors (other than RED...which should be reserved for EMERGENCY). I would also like to be able to do the "Knight RIder - KITT" moving light.

They are also bright. When I am driving at night on low beams, I regularly get oncoming traffic flicking their lights to tell me to turn off my high beams. I flick them onto high beams and then they flick as to say "ok, I get it".

At a Shell convenience store to get a snack. One of the workers comes running out when I park and says, "I love the lights on your car. They're amazing...what is it?" I tell her it's a Rivian. She's never heard of it. I return from buying some icecream and she says, "I just called my husband and let him know I found my dream car." It was night time...lights definitely look better at night. IMO, the lights are what distinguish the look from the sea of other SUVs.

The unique light array was somewhat meh at first. Now that I've driven R1T and R1S for over a year I find that light configuration represents one the finest vehicles I've ever enjoyed. It's branding and it's making an association as designed. Now I love it.

I wanted to add that (I've heard that) the Millionaire Matchmaker has been heard to remark that "the penis does the picking". If she don't do it for you, her winning personality won't be enough to build a strong relationship around. You're gonna get caught looking at other SUVs and EVs and she has enough cameras that you won't be slick enough to not get caught. Find her and you another happy home.

Also, after you flip it, make sure your partner doesn't get the impression you're consistently approaching them from behind...

I personally like the look but you do wonder if Rivian designers weren’t huge fans of the movie Cars….

Maybe try the light bar and side light covers from Abstract Ocean? The Rivian light bar mask gives a little tilt of the hat to Hummer and Range Rover look. And maybe smoke mask around headlights so they’re not giving you stink eye on the approach? Maybe a quick $50 fix, considering you love everything else???
