Why are you so active on a forum where you’re never going to be an owner? CarPlay is never coming and you’ve incessantly regurgitated, over and over again, that it’s a deal breaker, absolute no-go for you. Go on, be free. Save me the trouble of having an aneurysm every time I try to make sense of your sensational posts.Incorrect on both counts. Words matter, as does context. I never made any such claim HOW MUCH sales would be affected by having/not having CP/AA. Never once did I do that. What I said was that, according to your own numbers, 1/3 of car buyers DEMAND CP/AA. Isn't that what you said? So let's break that down....what does that mean exactly? To me, it means that they are not interested in purchasing a new vehicle that doesn't offer CP/AA. Now logic dictates that they are in fact eliminating that pool of buyers, doesn't it? There's simply no reasonable way to argue around this simple fact.
And as for me, no....I've never once made a single post about service being the reason I haven't purchased a Rivian. Not one.
Really? I would have thought that road surprises would be beneficial for neuro-divergent folks like yourself.I agree that CP is far more than maps; in fact there is so much more that is more important to me. And the Rivian maps mostly function ok. Where they fail totally is in awareness of the latest issues on roads. Traffic, closures, and things like that. It's a total failure every single time. Days or weeks behind.
Oh yeah, the "OMG DISTRACTION" people should take note that being faced with road surprises is dangerous as hell, compared to talking to Siri about a re-route option.
Never say never - when service wait times and absence of CP/AA will really hurt Rivian sales - we will see the changeWhy are you so active on a forum where you’re never going to be an owner? Love them! Nothing better than a bit of anxiety on how to get there besides dealing with the morons all around, who are trying to get off the road any way they can. It's my favorite place, right up there with arguing online about stupid shit with people who can only see things one way.Really? An informal poll here doesn't mean much of anything.A simple search will provide you with that data

Want to know what sucks, sure. It frequently drops the connection, far more than the native service in the Rivian. I cannot stand how it locks you out of typing your destination in while moving; it seems to forget passengers exist, and I'm often driving with my wife. I'm not too fond of the voice notifications for text messages. I always have to switch profiles to use it which requires disconnecting my wife's phone and connecting mine.I haven't used Car Play in a BMW, so I don't have any first hand experience. That said, instead of telling me it sucks, how about telling me why it sucks. What exactly makes your Car Play experience so poor in a BMW? What doesn't work well?
And you say it sucks, but then you also say it's better than most legacy autos? Are you talking about their built-in systems? You like Car Play more than native entertainment/navigation systems in legacy autos? Hmm....
Agreed. IT SUCKS.My R1T has been in the service center for two weeks now so I’ve had a Jeep Wagoneer for a rental and it comes with CarPlay. After finally getting to play with and learn CarPlay, I have to say that CarPlay is a huge NO for me. I significantly prefer the maps that Rivian provides and just use Waze on my phone. And Spotify is FAR superior on the Rivian’s system than through CarPlay. I cannot wait to get my R1T back (may even check with Enterprise to see if they have an R1S in stock that I can get). So please, stop requesting that Rivian use or implement CarPlay.

i, and many others, will stop asking for CarPlay when one of 2 things occur:
1. Rivian matches CarPlay content AND stability
2. Rivian offers CarPlay.
sadly, neither is on the horizon.
JokeYes of course. Do you find yourself needing fake boner pills, some two hour rants about conspiracies, and other assorted insanity?
