I got the long-awaited email yesterday inviting me to a first-drive event at the Portland service center. I drive by the staging lot every morning on my way to work but didn’t realize the service center was so close to being done. Despite opening the email just 24 minutes after it arrived, the event was already full. I emailed customer service and scheduled a drive in early January.

The address for my First Mile Drive at the Portland Service Center is 2300 NW 26th Ave, just about a mile from where they’ve been staging vehicles. I drove by this morning and while there were about 50 vehicles in the lot, I didn’t see a service center anywhere. Did I miss something? Either way I’m pumped to finally get my wife and I behind the wheel.

That is just a parking lot that Rivian is using. They had a tent their and did the pop-up recall at that location but now it just appears to be a parking lot they are using to store trucks awaiting delivery I assume. They had a temporary service center over on that side of town but I think they recently moved or are in the process of moving to a new temporary service center, allegedly in Beaverton?? The permanent service center is over by the Ross Island Bridge (2620 SW 1st Ave) but that location seems a long way off.

By the way if you go to the Rivian service site you can see Portland is labeled as ‘in the works’. They can do some things, and mobile service as well I believe but for most issues they send you to the Bellevue service center. Regardless is I hope that ‘in the works’ is quicker than the typical sOOn!

Enjoy your test drive!!

It's just a parking lot. I had my ride there a month ago. It's not where the actual service center is being worked on, at SW Arthur and SW 1st Ave.

Thanks guys. I work right by the supposed permanent service center and check on it at least weekly. So far there’s no sign of updates to that building though so I was hoping maybe they had developed the service center elsewhere. Oh well. At least the queue of deliveries appears robust, and a nice mix of R1S in the group.

There's another thread in this forum showing lots of activity on the service center (SW 1st AV).

City of Portland being the timely model of efficiency that it is, just approved at the end of September the permits to alter the building and perform mechanical updates at the permanent location, only took a year to get from Review to Issued.

They were willing to perform service at the current temporary location on Saint Helens Rd for me. They don’t have a lobby, but they brought my truck in and did work

The definition of most includes the possibility they can do some things and yes they did some service for me in PDX once but since then it has been Bellevue, Bellevue, Bellevue and now again they are proposing Bellevue.
