Chattanooga TN would be a great spot to explore the southern Appalachians from.

I'm in TX so central TX would be really easy for me but not that big of an adventure. My wife has family in Salida so that one would be an easy one for me to convince her that we should go.

Ouachitas in southeastern OK, Ozarks of Arkansas, Devil's tower WY and neighboring Western Nebraska.....so many places!!

You mentioned some great locations. I've spent time around the Bull Shoals area on the border of Arkansas and Missouri. Between Branson, Missouri, and Eureka Springs, Arkansas, there are some fun places to play and stay. For those who've never been to Eureka Springs, it's a laid-back enclave of people who seem to have opted out of the rat race. When dropping into the cool shops and restaurants in town, I expected to see a calendar on the wall from 1968. We heard the Grateful Dead emanating from above in more than one curios shop or antique store.

I don't know what other charging infrastructure may be there yet, but it's a hidden gem of a town and worth the trip. The old-school Palace Hotel and Bath House, with its great massage parlor make great use of the natural hot springs for which the town is named.

Another great place to stay is called Flatiron Flats. For those who know of the Flatiron Building in NYC, you'll appreciate the name. For anyone who appreciates cool spots to visit, you'll enjoy Eureka Springs. Bring your flip-flops!

If Rivian would do us the favor of offering that beautiful shade as a paint color, it would save a bundle on car washes. I hope the RAN, Jeep, and many others decide to heavily pepper Southern Utah with EVSE.

I've realized that I enjoy contributions from a lot of people here & would enjoy events where I could hang out with y'all in person.

Where would be some great locations for meetups once we have our Rivians? Some considerations are:

1) Accommodations - hotels, short term rentals, camping spots or RV spots (double as L2 charging)
2) Outdoor Adventure of some sort, trails, overland, camping, etc would be great
3) Charging availability, especially if it's larger events
4) Local culture, food, or other activities

I'm going to start by putting two on the list:
1) Central TX...(bias? never)
- Accommodations of every type for every taste
- Texas Overland Trail, Hidden Falls Adventure Park, plenty of lakes & other outdoor activities
- Great food (variety & BBQ!) & night life, breweries, etc.

2) CO - Salida/Buena Vista or Ouray/Telluride
- I'll have to let others weigh in on some of the specifics
- CO has some incredible trails & views, at varying levels of difficulty...something for everyone. Plus hiking, fishing, biking, etc.
- RAN & State Park Waypoint charging, in addition to others
- Great craft brews in CO, we even have a town mayor here on the forums that is also a distiller

Yes, great suggestion! I would completely be on board with a “Rivian Jamboree” in Moab. However, having literally just come from camping for 8 days in Moab (Arches, Canyonlands, DHSP) and Central Utah (Goblin Valley, Capital Reef) I am extremely concerned about taking a 300 pack to that part of Utah before they get the RAN really up and running.

On that trip, I never let my gas tank get less than 1/2 (about 175mi) because the gas stations in some instances were either few and far between (100 miles between services is not an oddity) or it’s just that remote (think the Wedge Overlook). After having done this trip towing a teardrop, it makes me seriously consider either needing to hold on to a gas vehicle until the RAN is fully up or cancel my LE reservation to wait for the 400 pack. Neither of which option is something I planned on.

I hope everyone here had a very Happy Easter! The folks in my neighborhood are pretty upset with me tonight. I went to all the work of hosting an Easter Egg Hunt for their kids, but do they appreciate the effort? Not so much.

I assumed everybody preferred their eggs soft-boiled. What a bunch of whiners!

Regarding meetups and what's needed to make them work, charging capability is an obvious must. As I've stated before, I think Southern Utah will be an ideal place for large Rivunions. While it looks like it will get some solid attention in the first RAN rollout, there are lots of wonderful places still in need. Don't forget to keep lobbying those good people in the Engagement Center as to the locations you feel are deserving of an RAN station.

Remember, and repeat after me, "In addition to Burns, Oregon, and McCall and Lewiston, Idaho, we also need stations in....blah, blah, blah". It's very important to follow the script!

Can't wait until Thursday to see what news they toss our way!

Great question.

I think Spring 2021 should work for any LE owners, as all of those should be delivered by then.

I'd propose at least a Spring & Fall option, if not hitting all seasons for appropriate locations & weather.

Please share your thoughts, that's the point of this thread!

Definitely sounds like a ton of fun in any case count me in assuming scheduling works out! If any help is needed I have organized various race events, club events with all logistics. I use to own a FRS/86 and we would do a "EXPO" where we would have 3 days of Track/Racing, Food trucks, Scenic Drives etc all official with T-Shirts, Hotel Discounts, Insurance and all that paperwork for about 400+ people.

I just do it for a hobby but its always a great time to meet new people. I am doing something similar for the Alfa world and I have offered a while back to Rivian if they need any East coast coordination to let me know.
