Premium audio upgrade worth it?

If you want a good stereo you should try to find one with the premium audio. It does appear to be somewhat different that Rivian elevation audio after they nixed the meridian system. All I can say is that the elevation audio is pretty awful so I wouldn’t expect them to achieve much with the base system.

I lucked out. I had to settle for the standard audio to get the dynamic roof—but then I spotted one in the shop that had both. They let me switch. Rivian’s sales and communications seem to be sort of a mess (as well covered in the forum) but everyone I spoke/texted/emailed with was pretty nice.

Ok - but the Rivian Elevation (now discontinued) does also have Dolby Atmos, correct?

IF I recall correctly, Dolby Atmos isn’t available at all yet but when it becomes available, it will work with the Gen1s and the Premium Gen2. (So, just not the standard Gen2.)

Others please correct me if I’m misremembering.

Here’s hoping they add time correction to those systems like they had on the meridian.

I keep thinking I am never giving up my early G1 with Meridian. I think it sounds great and really wish Rivian would bring it back or something equivalent. And yes....I do want a name brand that works with Rivian to get it all right....as it appears the in-house team might not fully understand what it takes.

Half the time I'm not listening to anything when I'm driving. If my daughter is in the car she is listening to Disney princess music. Wondering if it would be worth it to spend the extra money or just keep the base system in gen 2.

Worth is entirely subjective. Some people are picky. Some aren’t. Which one are you? Only you know. You pretty much answered yourself in your opening post.

It doesn’t seem like base system has a dedicated sub. Pics of the base vs. premium speaker set up. I ended up ordering my R1S (will be delivered in a couple of weeks) with the premium set up, but that’s only because I suffer from serious FOMO. ?
