Screen Crash With Gear Guard

I couldn’t find anything posted about this when I did a search. Has anyone had an issue where the screens will all black screen crash (sans speedo) when trying to go into view gear guard videos? I do a soft reset and everything comes back, but it’s happening every time I go into the gear guard screen. I did do a hard reset, but interestingly enough it would do the warning and then nothing happened for 3 times I tried it. The truck would just be like it was before I started the hard reset process while still holding down the buttons. I tried 3 times in a row and nothing. Did another soft reset and then it allowed me to do the hard reset. Same issue after that with the gear guard screen. Going to let it do a sleep tonight to see if that resolves it. If not, off to a Rivian phone call I go.

Yes. I’ve had this happen too. A soft reset “fixed” it and I figured I’d try again after the next software release. I kind of forgot about it since I don’t use gear guard much.

If you find anything out from Rivian, please post an update.

I had an issue last week with changing into Conserve to lower ride height for loading a kayak, and the screen became unresponsive. I couldn't change drive modes again, even after sleep cycle. Soft reset made things worse! It was incredibly laggy, no cameras would work, nav was stuttering. Speedo was fine, but the left side stuttered too. It took a hard reset to fix everything.

Sleep cycle did not help. Just submitted a ticket to Rivian.

Update: After several more videos were recorded, it stopped crashing instantly. It instead crashed when scrolling down to a certain video set. I figured out how to delete all videos at once and have not had an issue since. I’m guessing there was a corrupt video somehow. Canceled my service request to open up room for others.
