The last few digits of the VIN are sequential,, but it doesn’t necessarily correlate to order off the line as vehicles are serialized before being built.

Great question! Is there a correlation between order number and VIN number? I've been wondering about that very same thing.
My VIN number is exactly 488 higher than my order number. Discounting for employee Beta trucks or Bezzos vehicles, I wonder if there is a correlation? I suspect the VIN number is more dependent upon configuration and delivery location than order number, but? I would guess the latter. Wondering what other current recipients see?

No, the last digits of the VIN are just a serial number.

Trucks aren't built to order. Rather, your order is matched to an already built truck. Any correlation with your order number is purely coincidental.
Also, keep in mind R1T and R1S come off the same line and each have their own VIN sequence, so that alone will make it difficult to correlate VIN number and production order.

As of end of August, when I received my R1T, my end VIN number’s are 10280 which correlates with the production. Numbers as of August. 6,954 as of end of June. So with ramp up and end of year goal of 25,000, I think my 10280 is probably fairly accurate. Glad I waited so most of the bugs could be ironed out. I really don’t have any significant issues with the truck.
