And, if I recall correctly, your original post was not that the transmission on your Subaru failed, it was "What if something significant LIKE a failed transmission happened?", right? Hold on to the Subaru as long as you can and hopefully you'll be able to trade it, albeit with more mileage, in on your R2.

That's correct, and that's my hope. But, things don't always turn out as one hopes. Just trying to cover my bases if one day, prior to Rivian calling with the good news that my number has come up in the R2 queue, the Subaru dies and I need an EV SUV right away. Fingers crossed that it doesn't die, but.......
