Proximity Locking Off At Home - Mapbox Issue

Last week, when we got our Rivian, I discovered I could not get the “Proximity Locking Off At Home” to work with the Rivian parked in our home detached garage. When I experimented with navigating from our garage to our home address the Mapbox software calculated the Rivian in our garage was 300 feet from Mapbox’s pin for our home address.

I used Mapbox’s online address correction reporting tool to submit an address location correction that moved our home address pin from near my mailbox at the street to my detached garage down our long driveway. In less than a week, I got an email from Mapbox that they investigated my request and have accepted the change - my pinned address location in Mapbox will be my garage within two weeks.

This should enable “Proximity Locking Off At Home“ to work for us. I can’t be the only one who may have experienced this issue with Mapbox.

OMG, I wonder if that is why my R1T sometimes, but not always gets the hyper cycling of the lock/unlock when I walk by it in the garage. I get mad like the truck is a dog barking at cars if they drive by. If I look at google maps and the pin is at my actual house then the map box is accurate? My mail box is 2 miles away otherwise.

Check your address location using Mapbox, the mapping Rivian uses. Google Maps is not Mapbox.

Great tip! Mine doesn't have this problem (detatched garage is right next to house) but I clicked on the MapBox search link in one of the posts above just to see what it showed. It still shows the outline of two sheds in our yard that were removed in 2012, and another that was removed in 2020.

So, a bit outdated, you could say. Wish they used Google Maps like everyone else in the world. ?
