Good day!

I suspect the answer is "Nope."; but going to ask again...
  • I am the primary driver on my 2025 R1T
  • I have neither a phone nor a watch that supports Ultra Wide Band (UWB) communications.
    • Net: At this time, I cannot establish a digital key for me as primary driver.
  • Husband is a secondary driver on the R1T
  • He has both a phone and a watch that CAN support UWB
  • Question: Can >I< as the Primary Driver without UWB or a functioning Digital Key ability on the R1T send him an invitation to install the Digital Key on his phone and watch? I have the Digital Key icon listed for me on the Drivers and Keys window on the app; just unpaired.
If so, and this had been resolved elsewhere on this forum, please redirect me to the information so that I can go through the steps.

Greatly appreciated!

you have to setup a key on your device first and then send an invitation. (The invite is sent from your device and is not handled by Rivian. ) Or you need to upgrade your phone to a model that supports UWB. An alternative would be to set your husband as the primary driver.
You have a chicken and egg problem.

Hmmm... I wonder if I set up a separate user account on his phone (my Android allows for multiple users)... The last time I tired that, it hosed up ALL my keys when I went back the Android after sending the invite. But I only used the Rivian app on his phone account. But my Rivian PaaK access is defined to my phone number. Hmmm... need to piece part through this a little more.

Other than UWB not being supported on the model (OnePlus 13r), it works just fine.

Thanks!
