This may be simple but I would like to confirm that by having a Tesla to J1772 all I have to do is plug into a Destination Charger. It appears from what I have read and seen on YT that all I need to do is plug in and I'm set. I don't need a Tesla account or anything. I will be taking my first trip that will require a charging session and the town I'll be in appears only to have a Tesla Destination Charger.

Thanks

Tesla destination chargers are just Tesla L2 wall chargers installed at businesses, B&Bs, etc. and registered so they show up in listings. There is no authentication/billing. Plug in and go.

Recently charged at Chateau Elan in North Georgia.

Just be careful assuming you will be able to plug in. They fill up fast and people tend to camp on them...partially because they are usually 30Amp/6kwh/slow (but there are some decent 48/60amps out there...I've never seen an 80 myself but maybe they exist.)

(Obviously you need a TeslaTap or similar.)

Thanks. That is exactly what I wanted to know.

Mods, you can lock this one up. Hopefully the title is detailed enough to come up if anyone else searches.
