Dog and I went for a quick overnight trip to Escalante area for some hiking and trying camp mode in our R1S dual max pack.
St George to Escalante and back (via hwy 9 through Zion) plus a little bit of hole in the rock road.
414 miles, 2.48 mi/kwh - doing basically the speed limit.
Stayed @ OfLand (formerly Yonder) https://www.ofland.com/yonder. Had nice sites with 50 amp/14-50 connectors where I charged all night.
Camp mode was good though I didn’t figure out that standard power mode would turn off HVAC after a while. Also a pain to reach over the front seats to press the brake pedal to wake the display to change settings. Works fine in always on mode but I didn’t figure that out for a while. Nice and warm despite being 27 degrees and windy in the am. I am old so my 4 trips to the WC during the night were annoying. Wife and are heading back in a week to do Death Hollow back pack and thinking about returning to OfLand vs a hotel to charge the first before the backpack.
Two nice hikes (Willis creek canyon near Cannonville) and Big horn canyon (sandy hike with multiple sections of shallow slots) a short way down Hole in the rock road.
