R1 Shop QUESTION delivery ?

I have a march 2022 R1T Adventure Package/Large battery pack/Rivian/22" Sport Bright wheel and ocean coast interior. My delivery window was updated to Feb/March. I just got an invite to the RI shop today. They actually had my exact model available so I reserved it and completed the 8 steps all at once. What are the chances they would let me pick up the truck from Normal Illinois? I live and Utah and it would kill me to wait 6-8 weeks ? Anyone seen or heard stories of this happening?

Not sure. I live in NC and I got a truck out of the shop and it was delivered within 7 days of the start of the 8 step process.

the day I reserved it, I got an email it was headed to Richmond VA SC and to wait for delivery date. I paid cash so there was no hold up on my end. 8 step was completed in 1 sitting.

Talk to your guide or whoever ASAP.

lots of people here have managed to get factory delivery despite not living near the factory.

When I picked mine out of the shop (near exact config as what I ordered, just different tires) it was at my local service center already I think. I ordered and picked up 3 days later. So you may not have to go anywhere.

That would be awesome. I’ll have to wait till Tuesday to find out as my guide most likely has Monday off for holiday

it's not for sure the truck is in normal tho, right? don't the r1 shops show you local SC inventory? when my guide found me a shop truck he gave me 6 options in El Segundo and one on Normal... and the one on Normal was the one I picked lol.

Well I assumed it was on a national level, cause I live in Utah and there must have been 50-70 trucks to chose from

It's hit and miss. Depends on luck. I picked R1S from shop and my Guide told me it's in Normal, will ship after inspection. It's been 3 weeks since then and the truck is still on train somewhere.

We are in the same boat (...train). I picked an R1T from the shop after my delivery date was pushed back 4 months. The truck I picked was in Normal, but I assume that its now in transit to San Diego. Its been 2 1/2 weeks and I check my email daily for word from Rivian that its here and can be picked up.

Update… my guide did not respond for 5 or 6 days … called CS and they sent me over to another guide who told me my truck got loaded on shipped via train yesterday.. that was really frustrating as they did inform me vehicle pick at the factory was an option … now I have to was many weeks for the train to come
