Make a list of 4 possible vehicle builds you would snag in a heart beat.

For me it was 4 launch editions with either black or white paint and either 20" AT or 22" sport bright so I can get the LE discount. Ocean coast seats and Rivian underbody shield were non-negotiables.

In your case your non negotiable is Performance Dual Max. Figure out what interior and exterior options you like. You need to be flexible on some option items like compressor, roof, wheels etc.

Make sure you're on the same page with your family and when you find your unicorn, don't snooze on it. Snag it ASAP and start the 8 step process.

Performance Dual Max will be like Launch edition during my time in the shop. Demand is high, supply is low and everyone is refreshing right along side of you to snag it like it’s Black Friday shopping sale.

Everyone is looking for the Performance model especially pre-order voucher customer who would end up paying more for the upgrade after delivery.

Great advice I did the same what items mattered most I ranked everything 1, 2,3 and what was a solid no. Also don’t be afraid to ask the sales person can you swap bright 22” for dark, worst case they say no….or what ever tires/wheels you like.

Not sure if my experience is still available, but I leased a 23 R1T Dual Motor Max a few months back. At the time, Rivian was discounting the max pack, throwing in the PTC, a killer lease deal, and providing a $6K reduction in price. When I took delivery it was also upgraded to Performance for free. This upgrade was not announced to me beforehand but I found out through this forum Rivian was doing that for 23’s. Not sure any 23’s are left, but given Rivian wants to clear out Gen 1 inventory after the Gen 2 announcement perhaps there are similar deals on 24’s. Also, per my Guide, some items in the shop are modifiable if the vehicle is still sitting at the factory. In my case, I was originally focused on a 24 but wanted different wheels. Th Guide said these could be changed out because it was at the factory. In addition, I understand Rivian sometimes has a promotion for SC’s to adjust these at end of quarter depending on Rivian’s goals.
