Higher quality hotels all make you pay extra for WiFi (admittedly this is less of a thing now, but it's still a thing at many of them) because they know the people looking to stay there are concerned about the "experience" and not saving $8 a night on a $485 nightly rate. Cheap hotels all offer free WiFi because it gives the impression of value when the cost of WiFi could be 8-10% of the nightly rate.

Some people care about value, some people care about experience (I'm not making a judgement - I value both) but this is how the world works - each brand knows what their audience wants to see and prices and markets to them accordingly.

“Higher quality” hotels do not make you pay for wifi. Expensive hotels that cater to business travellers on expense accounte sure do.

Relais & chateaux property? Free wifi.

Did you read this somewhere or did someone actually publish the db reduction from any soft cargo cover?

There is no way a roll up soft cargo cover is going lower sounds by any perceivable level to human ear when the sound waves can travel out of sides and propagate from the cover material.

My last car with a soft roll up cover was noticeably quieter with the cover in place than not. Decibel measurements? Couldn’t tell you, but noise was certsinly attenuated.

You are the first person that has ever said that I am aware of.

My current cover does nothing for the sound and none of other vehicles I've owned in the past with the roll up cover did anything for sounds. I have had them in hatchbacks and SUVs.

I’ve experienced it myself in the past (LR4 x2).
I believe it might have been included in some literature as well.
As I’m not a engineer, I rarely walk around with a decibel meter. In addition, I have really good earring ?

Then, at the floor level, you've got the the latches for the tailgate which would take up more space.

I think at floor level, the problem is armrest for 3rd row seat more than latches. I still have hopes that you could rig something up to fit it at armrest level. I am curious if R1T bed floor is at arm rest level in R1S. If it is the same floor level, then that armrest design is going to really get on my nerves.

with regards to the cover, my wife’s outback came with it and we did found it useful on some trips. You could stow it under the floor easily. But on R1S which has a frunk, I probably won’t use it; windows are tinted enough to cover that valuable bag of mulch I will be hiding back there. But if an owner can show it makes a difference on noise, I will go for it.

Hahaha. Ordered mine a while back and it shipped today. Guessing around a year before my actual R1S is delivered (1H’23 est.)… Looking forward to it collecting dust in the garage for a while.
