Hey everyone I took delivery of my Gen 2 R1S about 3 weeks ago. I recently started to notice a muffled air compressor noise coming from the back of the vehicle almost all the time. I don't have the suspension set to auto; it's set to the medium setting. I do have the air compressor option and it's not that since that's a lot louder. Has anyone else noticed this noise?

it's the air compressor working for the air suspension. do you have kneeling turned on?

Watch during a drive to see if your suspension is changing ride height. If you are in "All Purpose" drive mode, even after manually selecting a drive height, the car will revert back to "Auto" on subsequent drives or even after several hours of being in a manual ride height on a long drive. Any driving at highway speeds will then lower the ride height to low.

I almost always hear the compressor running when I come off a highway to the first stop light as the car raises the ride height for slower speeds.

If it is turning off and on throughout a drive with no ride height changes occurring, it could represent a leak in the air suspension that would require Rivian service to explore.

I keep mine on "auto" height and use kneeling. Mine fires up within about a minute or two of my drive and then I generally don't hear it fire up again throughout the drive. I DO notice it will adjust slightly at the first stoplight or so. I think it's normal.

I don't think this is accurate. I'm in All Purpose 99% of the time and standard height. It never changes to Auto.

Now there are occasional air suspension adjustments during the course of the drive which are normal. You can feel/hear it normalize. If it does it too much, it could be an indication of a leak.

I wonder - Is this specific to the S because the noise is echoed throughout the cabin rather than in the truck bed outside? I never hear this on my T, and we have been driving our S in conserve since getting it a few days ago, so I have not noticed it, likely do to the lack of auto suspension height in conserve?
