I didn’t get one yet but I they are suppose to be on a rolling basis depending on when you pre-ordered.
I chatted with CS. All of the people who are getting this email have been sent this email. The rest of us should get an update by end of summer. They told me the emails went to people they expect to get their vehicle in 2022 Or were originally 2022 and moving to 2023.

They also told me they are batching just R1Ts right now.

Did you by any change originally have a MAX pack ordered and then swap to Large?
So this is exactly me actually. I switched from Max to Large and got shifted back a pretty substantial amount (July -> Nov)

I really hope that's not correct. My last delivery window (from 12/2021 email) was Oct-Dec 2022. I got the non-update update, which promised an update within the next two weeks. I fall into the original "2022 delivery window" tranche with my October 2019 deposit.

How did you have a July estimate with a Max pack?

I wonder how badly a configuration change to an R1T reservation will impact the current delivery projections.

For instance, I keep going back and forth on color and the power tonneau cover. I’m happy to lock in my color (Rivian Blue) but every time a see a video of someone having tonneau cover problems, I think I want to take it off.

I’m locked in on the rest of my truck’s configuration. All my other choices are requirements based.
I don't think color matters. The things I've determinwd that'll slow you down in no particular order:
  • 20 AT
  • Manual Tonneau
  • Max pack
  • Explore
  • OC interior
  • R1S
  • Bad location far from service center

Yeah I think we have figured out by now that paint color is not part of the batching. The things you identified are batched (as well as off-road upgrade) but color does not appear to be one of them.

Why do you say that the 20" AT wheels will slow down delivery?

Chat with CS and they can tell you the current delivery window on your reservation or if it’s now TBD.

I chatted today with CS. They said Ocean Coast, Explorer, Max Pack and manual tonneau will slow you down. Wheels and color will not. They’re batching R1T’s right now. No R1S.

Regarding OC, the CS agent said they have yet to accept any of the OC materials from the manufacturer for customer vehicles due to issues. I’m glad they’re holding off if the parts are up to par.

Congrats.. not sure why my location is such a negative when I'm not a far flight or drive from you ...
Lizardo, where are you located in South Texas? I am willing to pick up in a service center in Houston or Austin. Mission/McAllen area here.

All anecdotal since Rivian never answers a question in a straightforward manner.
1) Had noticed lots of 21s lately, which admittedly could be due to batching
2) Lots of 20s had bumped back delivery windows
3) On one of the Shop threads, there was mention that a guide told the OP he basically couldn't buy a spare outside of his initial order. (I believe) He extrapolated a tire shortage. So if you decide you want one down the line good luck finding one.

Allright, I just had one of my most informative chats with Rivian and, as I suspected, the email update was only going out to folks who would have otherwise had delivery windows in 2022.

I always had a window in the first half of 2023 so I was told we'll get an update by end of summer.

For those of you following the Kyle drama in the other thread, you might be amused to know that my RIVIAN chat person was named....Kyle! You can't make this ? up.

Carry on.

I think color matters some. I've seen very few Red, Yellow, Blue - and based on the various polls for people's orders, Blue isn't an rare config color (often a 4 way tie for 3rd behind white and gray)
