Right around $60k. Same price as the launch iX3 and EX60 but faster and better equipped.

It is risky launching with a premium variant but I suspect it’s probably smart. Maybe they’ll include hands free driving for free.
And shorter range and slower charging!

I have no expectations except under 75K. If it's priced well great, if it's not, no big deal to get a refund.

Anything said years ago before Tariff day is not enforceable in my book as I work in Retail so see the effects daily. Maybe they hit it, maybe they don't, regardless R2 will sell many times the volume of R1.
The &45k base price has been repeated post tariff announcements.
The battery and second motor adds cost but low $50s and then seats and audio to add - not sure how “premium” they are.

I am expecting Rivian to sell all they can build in 2026. If price needs adjusting it will come in 2027.

It will be $54,990 before options. Most exterior colors and white interior will be +1.5-2.5k each.

Tesla slapped a bunch of standard equipment(fsd, wheels, paint) on a Model Y Premium AWD and charged $59,990 for LE. More than a Model Y Performance.

Launch R2 has got to be fully optioned dual-motor. Something tells me Rivian put yellow brakes and badging on the press R2's for a reason. They think it is special, it is going to cost more than you think.

If we look at the R1S, dual motor large pack is a $7k more than the dual standard. Add the performance upgrade, increses another $5K so now we're $12K total. RJ also mentioned that the launch edition will have the premium interior so that's another $2.5K, or now up to $14.5K.

If you assume $45K for the base, then adding $14.5 brings it to $59.5K or $60K.

So if Rivian wants to go head to head with Model Y, which RJ kept referring to on the earnings call, R2 will need to come in at or below $57,490 before the usual added taxes and fees.

Just a hair under $60k with “free” options similar to the R1 launch editions: exterior paint color, interior color option, and wheels. I assume for manufacturing simplification everything else is exactly the same, meaning premium interior, premium audio, large battery pack, dual motor with performance upgrade already unlocked. Which if you compare R1 pricing for those options it’s about $10-15k worth of options, so if you subtracts $15k of options you get the $45k starting price.

Obviously, R1 and R2 are different and have different prices for options, but for a simple guess that how I break it down.
I think this makes sense. I was hoping for around 5k less, but this will do. I can accept just under 60k for;
Dual Motor Performance
Large Battery Pack
Premium Interior
Premium Audio
Paint (other than base color)

I'm ready to see the configurator!

Probably a good way to look at. Features added onto base model and their upcharge.

$45k R2 RWD Standard

Launch Ed:
Dual Motor $3k
Large Battery Pack $4k
Performance pack $4k
Premium Interior $2.5k
Premium Audio $1k

$59.5k

Performance pack could be free or very cheap for the LE as it is essentially free. No one mentioned an upgraded stereo. So I would still go with $55k plus destination so they can get excitement and build a sales backlog. The 20-25k expected this year will be a very achievable goal and I am sure they have plans to go beyond that and help the stock price - under promise and over deliver.
