What rate is Rivian offering? Check some credit unions, they are around 4%.

Rivian is offering 5.79% with an 800+ credit score. I got my current loan for my 2024 Model 3 from NavyFed, and they're currently offering 3.89% for up to 36 months or 4.29% for up to 60 months.

Needless to say, I'll be going with NavyFed. PenFed is running 4.19 to 4.44% for the same terms.

72 month on R2 is 5.69% with 10k down. I can't imagine anyone is leasing.

My local credit Union is offering 4.49% for 36 (not 72) months.

My local CUs are 4.99 for 48 or 5.04 for 66.

People actually take out 72 month auto loans?

I'll bite.

60 months was the standard then car prices shot up and now 72 months is the normal and has been for awhile.

I personally always take 72 months for the lowest obligated monthly debt payment (in case something bad happens or your lose your job) but I always pay it off in 48 months or less. Not everyone does that, can do that, or has the mental stamina to do that but it is an option. 72 months also generally has the best financing rate.

I would only take something longer than 60 m max if the interest rate was less than 2%.

The term of the loan doesn't really matter. You can pay ahead any time you please. To each his own though.
Be careful with early pay off fees, some loans have them in the fine print. Not saying Rivian does, but there are lenders that do.
