Efficiency with Aeros on: 1.89
efficiency with Aeros off: 2.04

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
What was the test? Seems flawed, as we'd expect it to be the other direction, and probably not even that much difference (8%!? That's more than you should see between 21s and 22s)

Took aeros off on delivery. Most (about 80%) of my 2260 miles so far are "city" (average speed 22 mph) with an efficiency of 2.4 mi/kWh. About 90% of the driving it's been between 65-80 degrees outside. Over 95% of the time I'm in the Sport setting.

Took mine off at delivery, and quite frankly, I don't pay attention at all to efficiency. Most of my driving is local. I charge to 70% every night and rarely go below 55-60% during the day. I drive pretty aggressively...because it's so darn fun.

I will be paying attention to efficiency during road trips this summer, and I'll probably pop the aeros on. Maybe I'll go one direction with aeros on and return with them off. I'll report back with some numbers.

so confused.

hovering around 2.03 mi/kWh on daily trip meter and lifetime trip meter. I try to drive with a soft foot, which is so dull!

Ok, so I did a somewhat scientific test today. I should have gone one more lap, but it was getting late in the day.

Weather was not ideal - windy/gusty with a few light showers (only on the first cycle). Traffic was mostly not a factor.

Method:
Arrive to EA, charge to 70% (let truck end charging)
Drive in conserve to 70mph for ~16 mile trip
Dogbone highway exchange, drive ~16 miles back to EA station
Record data and charge to 70%
Repeat

Cycle 1: No covers
Cycle 2: Covers
Cycle 3: No covers

I also captured video of the drive and grabbed the truck measured consumption at the turnaround point ("first 15") and at the highway exit ("second 15").

I also grabbed the amount of energy EA delivered to the truck ("Added kWh")

So, what's the takeaway?

It's somewhat in the noise, but it looks like the gain is no more than 5%, probably about 3-4%. That's more than I expected... and seems to be similar to the difference between 21" and 22" wheels. Knowing all this, I wish I would have opted for 20's and gotten highway tires or 22's like I had originally planned.

I’ve experienced hovering right around 2kwh/mi for awhile as it’s been colder temps average and more interstate/hwy driving with heavy wind. However, this week we finally got up into the 70’s here and man I’ve seen a big jump…

What in the world? I got 3.00m/kWh once when descending down a 4,000 ft mountain. Once.

Everyone’s R1T with whatever wheels seems to do better than mine. I’m not a lead foot either. Although I’m more of a jackass in this truck than I’ve ever been. :)

Same. A yellow t truck in my neighborhood gunned it past me the other day and I’m still doing like 1.9 or so on 21’s. In absolutely perfect weather too!

It's weird people see such different efficiencies. I'm averaging above 2.5 on 22s for my entire driving history, 4500mi. I live in the foothills and drive 70 miles a day and it's still cold pretty much all day less than 50f, 12f at the moment. Other than probably 5 full throttle accelerations I drive 5mph over the posted limit, 10mph over on the highway, Ive only used conserve mode once when driving from Louisiana to Colorado.

My truck lifetime is like 1.7mi/kWh over 3800mi. It's pretty frustratingly bad.
