Real world lease pricing

I am new here so I apologize if this has been beaten to death, but it is maddening trying to get answers from Rivian.

Right now they are advertising the R1T dual large for lease with $7476 down and $581/month.

I am hoping to get an idea of exactly how much money I will be spending up front and then per month. Seems I can’t get this from Rivian until I put down a non refundable deposit. I am in NC by the way.

This depends in part on where you live. The quickie estimator on the Rivian site shows you some of the added up front costs, but not all. In California, I also had to pay sales tax on all of the cap cost reduction (essentially my trade + the $7,500 rebate) up front. On top of that, I was told that I couldn’t use some of my trade-in equity to pay for these costs—all of it has to go to the down payment and you write a check for the extras.

For the monthly payment, I think you can just figure out what the sales tax would be based on your location and add it to the estimate.

Taxes and other state fees are not included. I believe NC has a sales tax of 3%. Obviously if you have a trade that will also impact pricing if you have positive or negative equity in the trade.

Just went through the process. I had heard some horror stories about the calculator being way off, but decided to take the gamble anyways.

Website estimated $635 for my R1T DM Large config, I estimated another ~$40 for tax (6%). My lease offer came to just under $660 including taxes. $0 down. F&F. No trade in.

My due at signing is slightly higher than estimated, but not unreasonable. The calculator does not include the Doc Fee ($374 for IL), the state registration fees (EV fees are higher in my state), and I didn’t realize we had to pay sales tax on the EV Credit. Total came out to just under $2.9k

I still think the current lease deals are the best bang for your buck out of any EV or ICE vehicle right now. Especially if you have an early credit or f&f.

I‘m in Connecticut, and also just signed a lease on an R1T DM large. My numbers are pretty much identical to these.

$665/mo ($0 down) for 36 months for a 2024 R1T DM large, with El Cap, All-Terrain Upgrade, and 20" all-terrain dark wheels and tires. F&F, but no trade-in or other discounts/credits.

Total price: $80,200.

I feel like this was a steal of a lease and the calculator was very accurate for me.
