Reserve a Slate for $50

You can reserve a Slate for $50. I know it's made up of interchangeable components, but the parts don't fit together very well. The fender doesn't line up with the front. Maybe that doesn't matter. Sorry, I duplicated the photo, but I can't get rid of one of them.

I'm confused. Are you just using the website to configure (I haven't checked yet) and looking at the renderings?

I can confidently say that you shouldn't rely on any renderings or website photos to judge how the final product will look. Especially if you're inspecting panel gaps.

I just saw this on Facebook and the photo is showing misalignment of the fender and hood and front. It could be deliberate. They want to show that the car is "different". I assumed it was a publicity photo so it was pretty close to the final product. I also assumed production must be pretty close. It's a unique marketing strategy that could appeal to a certain type of person/kid. That's as far as I got.

Whatever you see on their site or even in the episode of Jay Leno's Garage are completely bespoke hand built pre-prototype vehicles. They're more like "concept vehicles" at this point according to the lead designer interviewed on the Leno video which was only dropped about a month ago..

Agreed. Pixel-peeping at this stage is folly. Imagine if the intrawebz existed in the 50’s and 60’s when Ferrari, Jag and the rest were hammering sheet metal by hand… and the door of one car didn’t quite fit the next. But now OCD rules.

Yes - I have a res in for one. it is a $25K truck base, we will see what my ideal build would be full price in 4-5 months I am guessing (they are SLATEd to begin production this summer and deliveries next winter)...
2" drop, big tire, open air. would be our beach cruiser.
