Rivian doesn't have lidar in any of their consumer vehicles. They are using radar though, something Tesla isn't doing anymore.

The point of the subscription is to offset development costs. Connect+ cost covers the services tied to the product. Adding in more cost would raise the price of Connect+ but not allow the services to be decoupled. Combining RAP+ with Connect+ makes no sense, and the current a la carte methid is the right way to offer these disparate services. They should roll it into Connect+ , not have additional subscriptions. They may have better adoption of connect+ that way.
No, RAP is not even available for Gen 1.My Gen2 still says 'Renew before free trial expires in June 2025' just curious are you seeing this on a Gen1?
In my Gen2 it does work really well compared to the Gen1 I traded in.
Sorry you are right I was looking at Connect+No, RAP is not even available for Gen 1.
Agree - can't even match what my model S could do in 2015. Very unimpressive. Get something that works before asking for subscriptions. With $200k+ worth of Rivian's sitting in my garage, if they actually ask me for another $50 / month for this it will likely blow up my relationship with the company.
Once they get it working, they need to take a page out of GM's book and for the higher end vehicles and trims give 3 years included. The R2 can be subscription based like the Chevy. R1s need to get at least a couple more years once it starts to function.
For now, however, Driver+ blows.
