I’ve just figured out why I have received occasional temperature messages when charging at home. I thought maybe one of my pins had melted or corroded. Turns out there is a little sliver color nipple that came off and lodged itself in my J1772 connector. I’m waiting to see what Rivian wants to do with the home charger, but I’m tempted to just shut off power and use a plastic or wooden pick to dislodge that small silver loose. Hopefully the pictures explain what happened.

I first noticed temp notifications last summer. I don’t get them all the time. Maybe 1-2 times per month.

2022 R1T VIN 118xx 15,400 miles. Rivian home charger.

Is the pin threaded at the tip?

Can’t say for sure, but I think it’s just pressed on. I don’t have my R1T with me as it’s at the service center. I only have this picture I took the other day.

If it’s threaded, then those threads might be stripped.
