1 single thread for experiences, comments regarding improvements, feature requests, bugs, faults errors and happy thoughts to make it easier for Rivian "if they are listening" and all of us! "hey I have that issue too!"

Kind of like Jira if you are familiar...

I'll be the first to start! and sorry for the constant Telluride comparison.. this is just what I know and comparable...

I received my R1S the 22nd and it is AWESOME!! my comments however are on Driver + and cruise control.

Previously I come from a Telluride which has the EXACT level 2 self driving that my R1S has but.... Better... Here are my comments:

- There is no Resume!! like most vehicles if you brake or disengage cruise etc.. you have a resume button... not with my Rivian, unless I cannot find it. But you have to come to speed again and re set cruise.
- Adaptive cruise is good, no issues there
- My increase speed button is terrible... have to press it 5 times to get it to increase 1 increment. (me problem will open a ticket)
- Driver + is actually not good at all during the day... it is the most jerky ping pong bouncing thing ever... My Telluride is super smooth and lane centering is awesome.
- why must highways be mapped to use driver plus? again... Telluride, I can engage it on any road I want so long as it can see the lines to follow.
- again no resume button or anything... when I change lanes in Telluride and then recenter, it will re engage their "driver +". Rivian must re engage with button etc..
- Driver + and adaptive cruise DOES NOT WORK WHEN FACING WEST... sun was going down and was driving west... everything disengaged and a warning kept popping up that the sun was giving the camera a glare and could not enable.... what the poo? 3 years with Telluride not an issue. Why is this?
- Driver + is night and day different during the "night and day". during the day, chaotic mess, going to put me into a semi.. night time.... smooth as butter no issues. Camera can likely see the lines better.
- when engaging drive plus it jerks the wheel violently and sends the car almost out of the lane and then tries to recenter.

-Thank you on working on an idea that had a "low probability of success" and believing "you can do better"
-Thank you for allowing us to "drive the vehicles we want that has a path to carbon zero"
-Thank you for designing headlights that "have grown on me"
-Thank you for getting really capable people to work together, for all those "emotional" and "intense days" that lead to making and designing these amazing vehicles
-Thank you for all those customers interactions with Rivian employees, (CEC calls, Venice Rivian Hub, on the trail or at charging locations, at the service centers, with the delivery specialist, with the guides, on Reddit with Wassym, in Normal, Irvine, Plymouth, and other Rivian locations
-Thank you for inspiring our Rivian community
-Thank you for showing us what is possible
-Thank you for creating a brand that somehow improves my outlook on life and feeds my optimism

PSA- Im not a Rivian employee, just a fan of what's possible

*Yet Another Feature Request Thread

why must highways be mapped to use driver plus? again... Telluride, I can engage it on any road I want so long as it can see the lines to follow
There is a separate Lane Centering option that works a lot like driver+ does. It's not enabled by default. I find it annoying since I don't want to stay centered on 2 lane roads, which is mostly what I drive on.

- when engaging drive plus it jerks the wheel violently and sends the car almost out of the lane and then tries to recenter.
This and some of your other complaints about it sound like it probably didn't get calibrated properly from the factory. I'd put it on a service request.

Still waiting for a low cost, stripped down EV "work truck" pickup. Long bed, short cab, no "hippy stuff" like vegan leather or wood dashes. Getting an electric truck in Joe or Joan Homeowner's driveway is a good step in reducing emissions. But electrifying fleet trucks will improve on that by leaps & bounds.

You've got people out there with more money than sense flipping their Rivian's over in fields or getting them stuck in muddy lakebeds. Meanwhile work fleets are a nearly untapped market. Humm... ??
