My last new vehicle purchase was a built to order BMW, and I could watch by the minute the manufacturing process and transportation via rail and truck to the dealer. I literally knew by the minute what was happening and where it was, with estimated time to dealer. It was so much fun to track its progression to me. This was 9 years ago! So Rivian has an incredibly long way to go to match what other manufacturers have been doing to communicate with their customers. And based on conversation with my service center delivery guide, they don't get updates internally either, so I sincerely hope Rivian puts tremendous effort to improve their customer service, communications, tracking and process, as it is decades behind.how do you know if your vehicle is in transit and whether it's in a railcar or a flatbed or if it's coming from Normal or another SC? I was told in the email from my guide when i purchased it about a month ago that it was "on its final journey to you" and to hurry up and complete the steps (i.e. wire the $100k) so I could schedule delivery, which I did, immediately. I followed up with a text to the guide a few days later and she said it will be arriving at the SC in a month and I can probably pick it up a week after that..
...so now i finally have an appointment scheduled to get it next week, but never got any updates along the way other than the text a month ago.
