So as someone that just placed an Order for an R1S, am I able to attach someone's "Referral Code" to my Order? Also, do I have to wait till I "Own" my Rivian before I get a Referral Code to pass out?

Disappointing this took so long. I convinced 2 people to buy a Rivian by giving them a tour and test drive of my truck early on (2022). Given the current ubiquity and availability, it's not likely I'll ever get another referral.

I purchased a Shop R1S last week and delivery is scheduled for Sep 20th. I will reach out to my guide and get them to add your referral code to my order.

I am taking delivery of my R1T next week - I am assuming a guide can add the referral to the existing order? Or is this for new orders only?

from my guide:

Here is our advisement Ales "Referral codes are not retroactive and must be applied during the checkout process." If you were to put another order in for a Rivian and choose one from the R1 Shop you would get a code and be able to use it during checkout.

Yep. Everyone I know who is:
* Financially able to afford a Rivian
* Is even remotely interested in a Rivian

Already has a Rivian.

These programs are clearly meant to reward "influencers" more than "encouraging people to refer friends and family."

Although this does have a cap on the free charging, and the "maximum reward" is at 25 referrals, not multiple hundred.

Was this really the 'big' news that was touted to be? Such a downer, tbh.

My wife constantly tells me Rivian should pay me for marketing on their behalf.

Getting referral points through this program is almost similar to getting an AmEx Black card approved.
