And have they fixed the problems though - that is the dilemma.
Damage to the vehicle each time it was identified was taken care of. No arguing or blame game. They just did it. Which I appreciate.

I chatted into regular Rivian support (since the service center messaging still doesn't work) for an update...after the usual who are you and what do you need back and forth, the agent went off to get more info. At that time, I got a call from Rivian, I answered, assuming it was the agent, but no, it was the service center saying it was ready for pick-up!

Five minutes later, I get a reply in the app saying that the they'd spoken to the SC, it's still not made it into service due to a large backlog, and there was no ETA.

Clearly, there's a disconnect, or the agent is just pretending to get an update. Will go get it at lunch and report back.

So is a loaner/rental an automatic thing with Rivian? Like you 100% get it, or beg for it, or...? Tesla used to give you one. Then they went to "if available," but added an automatic Uber credit. And now you have to beg for an Uber credit. It's not critical for us as we have a backup car, but lack of a car means more logistic prep for drop off and pick up.

I'm also wondering when/if I should request cover replacement. Mine works but is just super clunky. Several people have commented that it will surely fail. Dunno. I cleaned and lubed it and it got MUCH better.

I also have these items to be looked at:

Passenger airbag often turns off with my wife in the seat (110 pounds). Some report that Rivian says "working as intended." However no other car does this, ever. NHTSA complaint time?

AC compressor vibrates a lot, and is noisy. I can push it and change the noise. A random guide at the SC said it seems "normal." But if I can change it by pushing it against the rubber damper, it seems not normal?

100% rental theyve never been pushy about not giving one. Also a good thing. I think when Tesla used to give rentals they were mostly Model S and Model X’s on the road so expensive vehicles. They needed to give loaners. Similar to Rivian now. When R2 becomes dominant seller I could see Rivian following suit with Uber credits or nothing at all.

I've had all options from both.

Last time from Rivian it was Uber credits, which for me (we have a spare car or two) is great. This time around it wasn't an option, so the rental 'experience' was the only option. Uber credits would have cost Rivian ~$40. Enterprise is $462. Maybe they can a back-end discount as well, but still, probably still 10x what Uber would have cost.

Last few visits to Tesla have all had loaners, and I could choose (which is great for me, always handy to get hold of an older MY or 3 to test stuff on). But these are Cybertruck visits, and that seems to carry some priority. Most other times it's Uber credits assuming it's warranty work, but one time it was nothing, and they wouldn't back down, claiming it was a 'new policy'. Tesla's loaner system, all via the app, has it's issues, but is mostly pretty slick, and having all my profile settings show up in the loaner is way cool.

Got the truck back; aside from the Enterprise return/shuttle process, everything is fine. Truck is in good shape (not cleaned, or charged, and footprints all over the truck bed); no dings, which judging from this thread, I should take as a win.
