I have manually taken the Rivian camp speaker out from the dock and charged it overnight using a lighting C cable. I tested it as it shows green. However after putting it back into the Rivian, after a couple of weeks, it chimes low battery sound again. I thought the camp speaker is supposed to charge while driving. Anyone one else have this issue?

Is there a specific way I have to do this? Like turn off the camp speaker and then push it into the dock, and lock it in order for it to charge.

It should be charging when stowed. Check to be sure it is fully seated. It should lock in place once the doors are locked (or in settings go to Dock / Lock).

I was getting weird Bluetooth connection chimes every so often when my phone would try to connect to the camp speaker instead of the car.

My workaround is to always turn off the camp speaker before stowing. Press and hold the far left “o” button until it powers off (the documentation may call this a standby mode - I don’t remember).

Rivian says that you have to lock the dock otherwise camp speaker will not charge if docked unlocked. I’ll try it and see if that works.

Actually when you put vehicle in drive, it automatically locks the dock. You can’t drive with the dock unlocked. Perhaps my dock has issue with charging or my camp speaker is defective.

That’s what I expected. What I didn’t expect was that it would stay locked even though the car was unlocked.

I’m noticing the camp speaker chiming when the vehcile is parked. Interestingly, I didn’t hear it chime when I was driving so maybe it charges while driving but can’t hold a charge now. I turned it off when I put it into the dock so not sure why it’s chiming at all. I have a service ticket opened and will have them determine if it’s a faulty speaker or dock.

First, when it works, this is a great Bluetooth speaker. I’ll hold it up to the Bose Bluetooth speaker I have any day. Thank you for that, Rivian! Nice touch and quality sound.

Alas, after using it until it ran out of battery a couple days ago, it didn’t recharge in the R1T while docked and locked for over 2 days. I pulled it out to use by the campfire again tonight and it’s dead. I’ll try the fixes others have posted but something is not right.
