Rivian stuck in conserve mode

Looks like just alll purpose. But it's better than being stuck in Conserve. Maybe next software update fixes it

Not sure if it’s coincidental, but adaptive headlights also stopped working at the same time, with a “service soon” error.

UPDATE: I didn't have access to a trailer, but I went to Home Depot tonight and bought a cheap set of trailer lights. When I connected them, I got a message that was something like "If you're towing a trailer, you should switch to All-Purpose mode. Do you want to?" I tapped Switch and not only did All-Purpose come back, all modes came back, as well as adaptive headlights.

The only thing I've noticed is still wonky (so far) is that the gauge screen doesn't show motor energy/regen.

Just bought a pair of trailer lights off Amazon. Just 17 bucks, will be well worth it if this works, and if it doesn’t, hey, I got a pair of trailer lights now!

This popped up for a second for me but I haven’t seen it since, think it was just a ghost warning, but considering it happened to both of us in similar situations, it may be correlated, haven’t seen it back since tho.

I thought I was the only one! This happened to me and they had me take it to a SC to fix. Unrelated, right before my SC appointment my heat pump died. 7 days over a weekend at the SC to fix. Happy to have it back and have my drive modes again

Did you post this on Reddit? I believe I may have saw it. Thought to bring it up here tho since all the issues seemed to be with sport mode here, not conserve.

I would sill keep in touch with the Service Center for a final resolution, though. I would guess that with the next upgrade (at the latest) it should be fixed

Looks like the FIX for this issue is finally present in the next software update:

• On Dual-Motor vehicles, fixed a rare issue that caused the vehicle to get stuck in Conserve mode on vehicles that don’t have Conserve mode.

The SC fixed it for me and said that the vehicle itself had the wrong configuration.

I am a little skeptical of that narrative because the configuration is correct in all other instances. Plus the new software explicitly mentions the issue and provides a fix.

I saw that! Glad to see they’re listening!! Hopefully this also fixes the cases I’ve seen with non-performance duals getting stuck in sport mode in a similar matter too.

A few nights ago, I was driving our Gen 2 R1S Dual Max, and saw conserve mode was available, this isn’t usual so I was intrigued, thought it was maybe part of an update, I tapped it. Since then, I cannot change the drive mode, all selections are blank, and the powertrain menu is very blank, just shows power distribution, the car is stuck in conserve mode, quite slow and FWD only. Don’t know why conserve mode isn’t officially available on dual motors cause it sure as hell works, but now I can’t get out of it!​

I’ve heard about this issue twice on this forum but regarding sport mode, and one similar case on Reddit with conserve mode like me, I wish I was stuck in sport mode! It seems like an issue with the holiday update since all posts about this are recent so if anyone from Rivian is reading this please look into it!​

I’ve done the two steering wheel button reset, the steering wheel button + hazard reset, all multiple times (waited an hour between the hazard resets), and I’ve let the vehicle sleep, absolutely nothing has fixed it, the car is stuck in this mode.​

Contacted Rivian service about it but quite frankly don’t want to deal with going to a service center for this, is there any DIY solution anybody has found? Or can it be fixed remotely by Rivian?​

Same here bro. It's a botched update that deployed outside of set times. I'm in 6" of snow and ice. Too much torque I'm all over the road.

Call RIVIAN they need to reset and for e a new update cycle on your car.

I'm still waiting for the new push.
