These repair costs and “totaling” for damage conventional autos sustain has me antsy to buy! I’m still shopping and on the fence…
I know that EVs have a high cost of repair, but I am thinking most modern (last 5 years) will have a high cost of repair. I know our Acura has cameras on the mirrors, many sensors in bumpers and a collision probably messes so many things up.

i know this doesn’t help you, I guess I am saying it is not going to get better.

We shall see! Insurance costs will reflect this forward! Good luck

Thanks. I guess you read the thread. The repair went well. I really would have hate to have seen the same accident in our MDX. There is much less bumper with that vehicle and my guess is that the hood would have had to been replaced, if not more. I think the deer might have rolled up the hood and ended up in the window. All in all, pretty lucky.

I've been through 2 not at fault accidents and a weather related windshield crack on my R1T totalling $40k in repairs for truly non-impact hits. I am not blaming Rivian as much as I'm crediting all of the additional technology (our Ford Explorer didn't do any better in the body shop). I told my wife that if my R1T (which I enjoy driving every time I get in it) goes to the body shop one more time I am going to locate my previous favorite truck, a 1996 Chevy Tahoe Sport, and buy it. No more recalibrations for me!
