Rivian Wall Charger and other brands

I have two Rivian wall chargers that I use in two different locations. They aren't very good. One started blowing a fuse every time I used it, so Rivian replaced it with a new charger. According to Rivian, the first one was defective. The second charger has worked better, though I had to reset it after power outages and go through a repairing process each time. On top of that, it is more expensive and has fewer features than most other chargers I've seen subsequently.

They're adequate now, but if I needed to buy another charger, it wouldn't be a Rivian charger.

I took a chance and purchased a EV Cube charger from Amazon as it was capable of charging at 50A and used a 14/50 which I already had installed in my garage on a 50A breaker. Upon further review it has to be hardwired to charge at 50, plugged in it charges at 40A. Not a big deal and may hardwire it at some point but it is sufficient as is for my needs. I charge at about 9.4kw an hour. Charger is wifi capable with an app and was right at $320.

I previously had the Gen3 Tesla wall connector for my 2021 Model Y. I recently picked up R1S on Nov 2nd, 2024. And bought a Tesla Tapmini. It charged fine for a couple of weeks. Then it stopped working all of a sudden. Turned of the breaker reset it and restart the software and restart the vehicle. Nothing seemed to work.

So I decided to return the Tesla tap mini, buy Tesla Universal wall charger for any future EV. Wall charger was delivered 3-4 days later. Installed it tonight. And it seemed to work so far.

crossing my fingers it will charge as scheduled tonight.
