My Rivian charger requires toggling circuit breaker to reset it about once a week. It seems like the computer crashes. It disconnects from wifi and will not charge the vehicle at all until rebooted. Even when it isn't crashed it often takes multiple attempts plugging and unplugging to get it to start charging.

It is quite frustrating that a few days each week I climb in in the morning to discover that the car hadn't charged at all overnight.

In 3 years, my Tesla / Tesla Charger has never failed to charge. It has never required rebooting, and has never required a plug-unplug to get it going.

I have a similar issue to this. Usually every two or three weeks for me though

For what it's worth that electrician should have known, not you, that Alum wasn't ok. I haven't seen alum used in home wiring in forever, I can't imagine the electrician that did the work is actually licensed, the standard has been copper for 50 years.
He was probably just trying to save money at my expense.

I had this message for the first time last night and my CVSE is only 5kW and it was about 40F. Dropped from usual 4.4kW into R1S to about 3kW. Obviously nothing to do with the ambient temperature for me. I have a Clipper Creek that has worked for my Volt flawlessly for 10 years. I have had my R1S for 2 months.

Has anyone solved this problem by installing a new CVSE?

To find which is at fault you need to charge your Rivian at another L2 EVSE or have another EV charge on your Clipper Creek EVSE.

You can cycle the breaker on your EVSE circuit and see if that fixes it.

Per the NEC, the maximum EVSE cord length is 25 feet unless it comes with a cable managment system (retractor, etc.) . So Rivian could have made it 5 feet longer, but nothing more.
Cord length is 24' feet: Rivian Wall Charger - Gear Shop - Rivian

I ordered the charger when I preordered my R1S and knew nothing about charging, and thought I would benefit somehow by having the Rivian charger. I'm sure a lot of other Rivian owners are in a similar situation. Thankfully I paid only $500 since I got pre-order pricing. For $800 I think aftermarket options are better.
