RMaxx Running Board purchase question

For those of who purchased RMaxx Running Board from EV sportline could you answer the following two questions?

1. If I were to bring my R1T directly to their Van Nuys facility for them to install do I still have to pay for shipping the product to my home?
2. What is the difference between 4" round clearance vs L-slot clearance hole method?

The first question would be best to go to EV sportline for the answer. The second question is just the type of cutting that's done on the plastic OEM panels. You can also just choose to leave them off and not cut them at all.
