I occasionally peruse local CL to see if anyone is selling Rivian bits of interest. Came across this gem:

While I can't say for certain it's a scam ... $35k for a mint '22 is either the deal of the century or decidedly not that.

I’m sure you are correct unless the person buying it for 55k in November 2024 feels very generous….

Yeah - reminds me of the trailer scams on CL when I was shopping for a cargo/utility trailer and came across some nice ones that well priced. Some like brand name hydraulic dump trailer for under $900 were too good to be true but others like this were perhaps 60% of going rate and were still scams. I’m sure if you attempt to contact the seller it’ll go something like “I’m selling it for my aunt (or someone else). Here’s more info, you can call me or me your details and I can arrange for it to be shipped to you. Here‘s where you can send payment.”

I find joy in wasting scammers' time, so I did email them, but haven't yet received a response.

I discovered this years ago with farm tractors on Craigslist. A one year old, $20k new John Deere compact tractor selling for $5k. Yeah, riiiight.
