Anyone having an issue where the car sometimes doesn’t charge at the scheduled time?

this issue seems to have started after the last software update. When I look in the app, I see that the car hasn’t charged and it no longer shows the car plug in. Once I wake it up, it then shows the car is plugged in and I can manually tell it to start charging.

the problem is, waking up and realizing the car hasn’t charge and need to go on a road trip. Or I will have to charge it when I wake up and pay higher electricity rates.

Check that you have the correct "home" set up. I've seen software updates delete your "home" and then scheduled charging doesn't work anymore.

Delete and re-create your schedule from your normal charging location. I was told there would be a way in the future to set locations but the only way to set is from anew at the actual charge location.

Love how the car can drive itself but forgets to charge. Real futuristic stuff. Nothing like finding out you’ve got 18% battery and a 100-mile trip ahead because the app just took the night off
😭😭😭
I guess it’s better than a spontaneously igniting Tesla…

Been an issue since day 1. R1 always seems to wait till the last couple of hours in the schedule to charge and rarely makes its preset level when doing any kind of deep charge. Problem has been exponentially worse now that we have 2 charging using Tesla wall chargers that load share. R1's don't seem to adjust schedule based on actual energy going in vs demand.

That was actually one of my initial fears, but after nearly 3yrs of ownership and I’ve never had a missed schedule charge.

Yes, I experienced this issue last week. I scheduled charging to happen between midnight and 10am. At 8:30am walked up to it to see how it was doing. The vehicle woke up and then started its charging session. It appears that scheduling might work if the car wakes up to see that it has scheduled things to do. cron daemon isn’t running when OS is asleep ;-)

The last update, 2025.22.30, deleted my home address. The car started recording Gear Guard videos in my closed garage. Irritating.

This has also been an issue for us. Seems like it reoccurs around every other OTA update and doesn’t resolve until the next one. Soft reset sometimes remedies but it seems to come back.

Already checked that and that isn't the issue.

I already did that...still have the issue. The issue isn't every night either.

Yeah, I can't figure out why. I still have a Model Y and never had this problem.

Yeah, this issue just started after the last software update. It had deleted my home address also and replaced it with the delivery pickup address. But I fixed that.

I never used scheduled charging, no real need for it. I decided to give it a try last week just to test it. I wanted it to charge from 70% to 85% overnight to prepare for a road trip. It did not work.

Yeah, for some reason it looks like it forgets that it is plugged in so it doesn't wake up to charge at the scheduled time. If I wake it up during the scheduled time it then realizes its plugged in and starts charging.

It doesn't happen every night which makes it confusing. I am pretty sure I am doing everything the same. Seems like a software glitch.
