Looks worse than no fire extinguisher. If an emergency tool doesn't work as expected, it definitely creates an extreme hazard to the user.
Shit. I should have done some research or something before buying these. Well I guess I lit that money on fire for two of those.

Thanks for sharing. It looks like it’s not useful on an established fire. I’ve seen similar videos of it being very effective at initial flame up. Now you’ve got me thinking about what would put out / slow down a lithium fire as things get super heated very quickly! Given our vehicles fording ability I think a large vehicle fire would be a total loss so I’m going to keep mine in my truck and plan to catch anything early and plan B is to get a new truck on Ins co dime ;)

Please do NOT drop your credit card down there while waiting in line at the pharmacy drive up window. Ask me how I know.

Pro-tip... a painter's stir stick wrapped "backwards" with blue painters' tape can assist in the recovery of a credit card dropped between the seat and console.
Our adventure vehicle "recovery board" is a strip of wood with some tape on it used to avoid embarrassing situations in drive-thru lines. Just sad.

It was "recovery" and did not "avoid" the embarrassing situation. Fortunately, I had backup cards and cash...and nobody "knew". I retrieved it at home in the garage.:CWL:

Anybody actually try these out in the Rivian?
Yep I have them installed in mine, hence why I recommended them. Due to the roomy entry feature they can occasionally pop out so just need to give them a shove back down to reinsert, but have been great. Already saved me from losing a card and a phone.

?

Not for this reason, but I have an Element Fire Extinguisher in all my families vehicle’s including my truck.
Not sure that will do much, if there in case of a "car fire" - battery fires are near impossible to extinguish.

I also have an Element fire extinguisher (not for long... ugh can't believe they're that terrible) but I've always figured it would be used on someone else's vehicle. Kinda like carrying extra fuel or a jump pack. Never had to use it for myself but has come in handy many times to help someone else.

With that said... I'm shopping extinguishers now... Kidde Pro 210 vs. Amerex or even the Kidde Auto FX. Thoughts?

No thoughts other than fireman and thousands of gallons of water doesn’t put a dent in a EVv battery fires ? . Many articles on this.

Well aware of that. Like I mentioned, reality is that I'd like to carry an extinguisher to help out someone in need in the event of a fire. Also nice to have at the camp site.

If my truck is on fire... I just plan to GTFO.

We use these in our other vehicles. Glad to hear they work in a Rivian. (I might get my R1T max pack some year.)

THIS ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^

Be realistic. Any "car fire" beyond a cigarette ash on a seat cover is going to end in a "total". Certainly one that's extensive enough to require an extinguisher.

Just get out, protect adjacent property and be done with it. If your neighbor's close enough with his F-350 dually, maybe drag it out of the garage to protect the house if it's not too involved by the time he gets there.
