I love my 2025 R1S! Saying that up front because I rarely post and I am trying to gain some knowledge. I am located in Eastern Mass and have twice experienced ~5 month delays for warranty repairs. These are not emergencies and are items such as a mirror that stopped folding that mobile service couldn’t repair, 7500 mile service and noisy windows. I understand that these are problems often experienced by other EV and ICE brands. My experiences with ICE, Lucid and T-word was 2-3 week maximum appointment scheduling.

What have the rest of you experienced for non-emergency repairs and in what region of the US are you located? I am wondering if this is a regional or national phenomenon.

Thank you for your input.

My experience in Arizona (Phoenix area) simple things like recall (lights issue) and tire rotation appointments were about 1 week out. My guess is the queue is regional ... ratio of vehicles to service centers.

I’m in the St. Louis area and the last time I scheduled service it was a week out. Supply and demand.

I have never had to wait more than a month in East TN. The downside for me is all service centers are about 4 hours from here.

It's about a month out in the Raleigh, NC area. I noticed a leaky rear damper the other week and the first available was 1/5/26.

if it's a little thing, the wait was long in the Bay Area. However, when I had a leaky CV boot about 1.5 years ago, it was in the shop within 2 days. From my experience Rivian is pretty good at prioritizing things.

I’m in your in your neck of the woods in New York. I just recently had service for suspension noises and was scheduled a week out. Service replaced both rear half shafts, both rear disconnects, and front dampers. They also fixed an interior rattle on the front upper dash, and did tire rebalancing. It took about a week due to parts that required ordering. Rivian service was terrific. They kept me up-to-date daily via app messaging. My R1S drives much better now.

The current service turnaround in the Phoenix, AZ area is 3–7 days, with two conveniently located service centers, one 11 miles away and the other 26 miles away. I just had an appointment yesterday that was scheduled five days earlier via the app.

On a side note, it's been 73-78 degrees here for 10 straight days....

It used to be very bad. Getting much better if you ask me. And they keep opening more service centers. What you can do too is find a service center that has a quicker appointment but may be further away and make a day (or weekend) out of it.
twice I went further to drop off so that I could see a Mets game too.

I would guess it's based on the # of SC's and Rivians in your area. I'm in L.A. and I have access to 3 SC's (VN, ES, and Burbank). Between the 3, it's less than a week for an appointment even though I'm sure this region probably has the most Rivians (pure speculation).

I don't know if it applies to your region, but I believe after the last job cuts, the SC's in my area stopped working on weekends. That's probably not helping either.

I am about 30 min from Rivian HQ and nearest SC (Lake Forest). One mobile service plus two drop-off service appointments so far. Mobile service was soon after delivery, to add the full-size spare. That one suffered from scheduling and billing mix-up between corporate, Costa Mesa SC and mobile tech. And for a long time Costa Mesa was the first and only SC serving a few counties. It's small and its reputation suffered (suffers still) from weight of demand.

First drop-off one (Lake Forest) was requested last December and fulfilled the following January. Second (also Lake Forest) was requested 3 weeks ago and admitted into SC the same week, mid-week. Fulfilled evening of same Friday. Both appointments were handled with respect and care. All requested items, plus active service campaigns they added to each appointment, performed to full satisfaction.

Just like dealers of other brands, location matters.

Western NY (Buffalo) checking in. Never had to wait more than a week. I think once I was scheduled for a visit like 4 weeks out, but they called the next day and moved the appointment up to the next day.

In general dealing with service has been, quite possibly, the best part about ownership. I shouldn't have had to use them 11 times in 14 months, but when I do it's really quite easy and fast.

Routine stuff that can be done whenever? The next "routine" appointment was in about four months. Once there's an appointment, I can use the app to message our SC with updates. When our SC is open, they review all messages promptly and respond to everything that needs a response.

Something urgent (the latest was a large water bottle stuck tightly in the cupholder) when I didn't have an appointment and (855) RIVIAN-5 couldn't promise anything, but we happened to be in the Portland area so we drove over? The front-end service rep knew how to fix it quickly when we didn't. Time from phone call to fixed problem: about 40 minutes.

I think Portland (Oregon) SC is matching their resources to owners' needs really, really well.

But because every problem and owner has a different set of needs, there's no single number that describes the wait-time process at this center, or perhaps any other.

Best to all!

My appointments for minor issues at the Chelsea SC were months out. Once there the work was done quickly.

Good thing is we now have an SC in Canton.
